LTS is currently seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support the NS3 Directorate at the Department of Commerce (DOC). This position is 100% on-site located in Washington DC and requires an active TS/SCI. You will be part of a Linux and Windows environment team and provide system operational support and maintenance.

Responsibilities/Qualifications:
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of server hardware, and Linux and/or Windows operating systems.
• Perform analysis, design, and development of security features for system architectures.
• Analyze and define system requirements which may include servers, mainframes, workstations, and personal computers.
• Determine enterprise information assurance and security standards; coordinate, develop, and evaluate security programs to include identifying, reporting, and resolving technical security violations.
• Recommend information assurance/security solutions to support customers’ requirements.
• Ensure all discovered discrepancies or security vulnerabilities during weekly scans, such as missing patches and software updates are immediately resolved through utilization of BigFix.
• Utilize BigFix to deploy fixlets, distribute applications and patch packages to end-user workstations.
• Manage and work in a Red Hat Linux operating system and services.
• Installation, configuration and tuning of Red Hat 6 (REHL 6) and Red Hat7 (REHL 7) virtual servers.
• Backing up and Protecting Linux environments using platform-specific tools.
• Manage Windows Server 2012R2 and 2016 configurations, security patches, and applications.
• Manage the ESXi host resources \ virtual machine resource allocation (CPU, memory, hard disk, etc.) and perform routine maintenance on this environment (schedule downtime for patches, updates & upgrades)
• Use SolarWinds module (Server Application Monitor) to monitor the performance of NS3 Servers
• Develop and implement information assurance/security standards and procedures to include analyzing general information assurance-related technical problems and provide basic engineering and technical support in solving those problems.
• Perform vulnerability/risk analyses of computer systems and applications during all phases of the system development life cycle.
• Deploy applicable server patches and perform systems backups.
• Apply and configure Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) or Intelligence Standards.
• Installation, configuration, and maintenance of centralized storage systems.


Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field plus 7+ years of experience
• US Citizen
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• Solid background in Red Hat Linux System Administration
• Experience with managing VMWare ESXi clusters and hosts
• Experience with Solarwinds Suite (Server & Application Monitor, Virtualization Manager, Patch Manager)
• Experience with Microsoft SCOM and SCCM and IBM BigFix
• Experience with Mcafee Endpoint Protection Products (EPO Policy)
• Backup experience such as Symantec Backup Exec, Commvault, VEEM
• Critical and creative thinker with proven success of creating efficient and innovative technology solutions
• Ability to learn other technologies such as Citrix, backups, etc.
• Ability to work effectively with others in a team-oriented setting
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and project simultaneously

Desired Skills:
• Working knowledge of a wide range of datacenter technologies including Local (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN); NAS and/or SAN storage technologies. Oracle technologies, Microsoft Windows Server, firewalls, and VPNs Network protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.
