Description

LTS is seeking an experienced full-time Certified Nursing Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year for the Franklin Township, NJ public schools. As a school nurse assistant, you will be responsible for administrative and basic medical responsibilities under the direction of a licensed school nurse.

Duties & Responsibilities:           

  • Provide first aid for injuries and document symptoms of sick students.  
  • Administer doctor approved medication to students and provide emergency care when necessary.  
  • Maintain a log of students who are sent to the nurse's office and communicate with parents or guardians of sick children.
  • Contact doctors who can provide emergency care when necessary.  
  • Assist the school nurse with health assemblies for students and staff.
  • Provide training in first aid and safety practices.
  • Administer basic first aid to students and staff who become injured or ill on school grounds.
  • Record and maintain accurate medical records of students and staff, including immunization records and medical histories.
  • Assist the school nurse or other healthcare professionals in providing medical care to students with chronic medical conditions, such as asthma or diabetes.
  • Maintain and order medical supplies and equipment necessary for the care of students and staff.
  • Perform basic health screenings, such as vision and hearing tests, to identify potential health issues.
  • Provide compassionate one-on-one support to students.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to maintain a positive learning environment and assist with daily activities.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • H.S. Diploma with 2+ years of experience working in schools or a similar setting.
  • Must possess an active CNA License and a valid Driver’s License.
  • Must be able to pass Background Check.
  • Must possess a current CPR/BLS Certification.
  • High level of patience, understanding and compassion.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
