The Scoop:

The RDUR Manager optimizes the clinical quality and cost-effectiveness of drug therapy for plan sponsors and their members. Focuses on rational management of drug utilization by employing analytical tools and an evidence-based approach to achieve lower net cost, better health outcomes, and higher levels of satisfaction for plan sponsors and their members. Works within an account team structure to achieve overall account and company financial goals. Relies on data and performance indicators, as well as experience and judgment, to identify and promote performance improvement opportunities which attain the aligned goals of MedImpact and assigned clients.  

 

What You Get To Do:

·         Works with the State and the DUR Board to determine intervention criteria targeting therapy problems.

·         Provides possible educational intervention criteria for review at the quarterly DUR Board meeting.

·         Provides the following additional information to the DUR Board:

o   Provider response log updates

§  Provider profiling (prescriber and pharmacist)

§  Top providers by paid claims

§  Top providers by number of claims

§  Top opioid providers

§  Polypharmacy prescribers

·         Intervention review summary as determined by the State and DUR Board

·         Statistical activity summary report for RDUR interventions

·         Drug utilization ranking summaries

·         Therapeutic categories by prescription cost

·         Therapeutic categories by prescription numbers

·         Monitors the lock-in program

·         Provides required monthly reports to the State, quarterly reports to the DUR Board, and yearly federal reports by predetermined  deadlines

·         Provides cost avoidance data contributed to the RDUR interventions

·         Performs any additional duties required by the State

 

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Education and/or Experience

For consideration candidates will need:

·         Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree required

·         Minimum of five (5) years' experience in clinical operations, quality, network, pharmacy, or project management

·         Project management experience and knowledge of health plans required

·         Provider experience preferred

·         Will accept an equivalent combination of experience and education, and/or experiences may run concurrently

·         Ability to receive assignments in the form of high level objectives and independently establish detailed goals to meet objectives

·         Strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills

·         Ability to function independently and as a team member

·         Good organization and time management, with the ability to manage multiple tasks

·         Proven ability to plan, organize, schedule, direct, control, and monitor project activities

·         Able to perform basic financial analysis

·         Ability to interact at a high level with external contacts

·         Expert knowledge of RDUR/DUR Board processes, policies, and drug use review/evaluation tools

·         Current and active Arkansas Pharmacy License required

 

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and a working knowledge of relational databases.

 

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Registered Pharmacist in the State of Arkansas with current and active license.

 

Travel

This position requires approximately 25% domestic travel and may require international travel in which case a valid passport and ability to leave the United States will be required.
