Information Security Engineer

Piper Enterprise Solutions is seeking an Information Security Engineer for a growing software organization in Durham, North Carolina (Durham, NC) that has been voted one of the best places to work.  The Information Security Engineer will be an integral member of a small team looking to grow to be mid-size within the next year.  The Information Security Engineer will be responsible for the overall management and administration of all information security within the organization’s applications and systems.  A successful candidate for the Information Security Engineer will be a jack of all trades who enjoys to take on new challenges each day.  Other responsibilities may include penetration testing, system and application vulnerability assessment scans, working with the software development team to discuss best practices around security, developing and maintaining information security policies, and administering information security solutions.

Requirements for the Information Security Engineer include the following:

• Strong understanding and experience with Linux – must understand hardening of Linux, installing packages
• Solid understanding of networking (AWS networking is preferred)
• Experience within firewalls, intrusion detection, compliance, incident response, SIEM
• Experience working within the cloud and/or a strong understanding of the cloud (AWS is highly preferred)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Bachelor’s Degree/Master’s Degree preferred or related field experience

Compensation: $100,000 - $120,000 with a comprehensive benefits package.  Depends on experience.
