You must acknowledge the following to continue with the job application and to be considered for employment with Sarasota County Government:
If you have been a user of tobacco products within the past six (6) months, you will be ineligible for hire within the Sarasota Board of County Commissioners for six (6) months and you may not proceed with submitting a job application until such time that you can acknowledge this statement. Tobacco products include cigarettes, cigars, snuff, e-cigarettes/vape, chewing tobacco, or any other product containing tobacco (nicotine), ingested or inhaled. Nicotine gum, or, any other product used for cessation purposes is permitted.
By answering the questions below with “No” you declare that you have read the foregoing and that the facts stated in it are true, and that you have not used tobacco products in the past six (6) months. By answering “No” to the below question, you understand if you accept an offer of employment you're hereby affirming that you have not used tobacco products for at least six (6) months immediately preceding your job application in accordance with Sarasota County Government Procedures and Guidelines, Section 13.07(2). Falsification of any information contained in this statement will be grounds for discipline up to and including termination.
(If you are currently employed by Sarasota County Government, Board of County Commissioners, you are exempt and should answer NO to this question.)
