The AV Events Technician will serve to provide ancillary event support services to the team and may be responsible for assisting with kicking off / starting an in-room presentation or may be asked to provide dedicated technical support of the in-room AV equipment to successfully execute a meeting/event. Additionally, we have a number of events that require virtual-only support on platforms Google Meet and Zoom.

It requires expert knowledge of these platforms and the possibility of flexible hours, as support may take place after normal business hours or on the weekend. Additionally, the role may require travel around our Latin America offices to help support events.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working on corporate events in a corporate setting
  • Experience in filling one or many of the core AV events positions: Examples; A1, A2, V1, Graphics, Lighting Director,  Directing, Show Calling, Camera shading, etc.
  • Setting up, some programming and configuring, operating, and providing support.
  • Understanding of current audio/video standards and equipment
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all audio and video production items for events.
  • Ensure a well-produced event for both streaming and in-person experience.
  • Use and follow the run-of-show document as a guide for proper show flow.
  • Partner with other crew members on the execution of elements both prior to and during shows.
  • Attending pre-show production meetings with crew to review responsibilities.
  • Ensure testing of all show playback elements for proper play out.
  • Following the event content closely to execute with maximum quality.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that proper audio levels and video feeds for records are precise.
  • Ability to program and operate switchers, graphics, mixers, microphones, and all ancillary audio gear.
  • Manage gear configuration upgrades
  • Occasionally help develop new show elements.
  • Work with presenters to properly place and track lav microphones, bonus for RF coordination knowledge
  • Reset space after events to pre-production standards
  • Note any equipment failures and report them to the AV team
  • Previous experience supporting hybrid and virtual event platforms and workflows
  • Assist with inventory management and quality control for company-owned equipment

  • Detailed-oriented and motivated self-starter.
  • Strong communication and organization as well as professionalism in dealing with stakeholders and clients
  • Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Ability to adapt and work well with varied personalities and teams 
  • High level of professionalism and ability to maintain composure under pressure (particularly with A-list talent or executives)
  • Ability to work independently with minimal guidance, but aren’t afraid to ask the right questions when you need help.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate in a team environment
  • Attentive to tickets and Slack channels and respond in a timely and concise manner

Education / Experience:

  • Education / Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree, industry-related experience and certifications are preferred.
    • AVIXA CTS
    • Other services /equipment training or certifications
    • AV Related Certifications
  • Customer Service Oriented Experience

Estimated Pay Range:   Exact compensation and offers of employment are dependent on circumstances of each case and will be determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, licenses or certifications, and location.
