Job Description

Primary Duties / Responsibilities:

 

Operations Support Q4000, Q5000, IRS Systems

Project Support for Q4000, Q5000, IRS Systems

HFRS – WellCap – BSEE – Support Regulatory Maintenance and Testing

Support of the HFRS Well Cap Emergency Response Team during an emergency,

Well Cap deployment in case of emergency offshore.

Provide Subsea support to Engineering, Operations, and QEHS for maintaining the integrity of IRS systems

Liaise with regulatory, government agencies, client representatives and subsea equipment surveys as appropriate.

Keep current on BSEE, API industry standards, practices and methodologies as well as regulatory requirements.

Review the IRS Onshore / Offshore Testing Procedures for IRS Systems. Review RCA's and

provide preventative measures to improve.

Act as back-up for Subsea Engineers and Senior Subsea Engineer in their absence.

Responsible for tracking IRS System maintenance and certifications.

Manage IRS System Spares and tooling to ensure system reliability and minimal downtime for repairs.

Complete other duties and/or projects as required and assigned by management

 

Qualifications

 

Education / Training:  Minimum 2 years college / Technical Training - plus experience. Preferable a college degree.

 

Experience:

- Oil Tool Service experience with Well Control Completion Equipment.

- Subsea Engineer experiences with BOP I IRS Project Builds and Commissioning them into Service for Operations.

- Subsea Controls Systems - Pilot, MUX Systems, ROV intervention.

- Experience with vendor manufacturing process of API oil well equipment and the processes of inspection, refurbishment of equipment for re-certification to operate offshore.

- Experience with FEMCA or HAZID meetings to subsea systems to find improvements to meet Regulatory Compliance and prevent EHS endangerment issues and to minimize or control system failures.

 

Skills: 

- PC proficiency required. Working knowledge of current Microsoft Office software suite version.

- Committed to a high standard of safety and to comply with all safety laws and all the employer's safety policies and rules. Must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.

- Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.

- Availability and willingness to travel to such locations (both onshore and off) and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

- Effective communication, team working and organizational skills. Good interpersonal skills.

- Attend regular meetings for WOUS projects under vendor manufacturing and provide Helix subsea personnel to be present to witness the Assembly, FAT, SIT, Assembly of our IRS Systems to be implemented into operations and record tracking of the project schedule for completion and accountability.

- Excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.

- Exercise sound judgments and make decisions in a manner consistent with the essential job functions.

- Maintain flexible attitude and approach towards assignments and successfully operate under ambiguous guidelines.

- Maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer's sole discretion.

- Work effectively alone or as part of a team on projects.

- Expected travel to offshore and off-site locations required.
