MUX Technician
Reports to: MUX Project Manager
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
- Offshore operation, maintenance and repair of the MUX system and ancillary equipment under the direction of the Onshore Engineering/Tooling Project Manager.
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To ensure that all personnel under his/her supervision perform their tasks safely and efficiently in accordance with approved procedures and Robotics Offshore QHSE Policy and Objectives.
- Updating of the PMS and DPR records.
- Support of WELLOPS Subsea department and Vessel Superintendent with MUX / IRS operation and maintenance.
- Perform and maintain inventory control of the system spares and consumables.
- Completion of system and project paperwork under the direction of the Engineering/Tooling Project Manager.
- To provide “on the job” training where it's considered necessary.
- Attendance at, and when nominated, chairmen weekly safety meetings.
- To conduct MUX systems offshore maintenance in compliance with Robotics Offshore schedules and procedures.
- Perform and maintain good housekeeping of the MUX system.
- To carry out other tasks as may be delegated by Engineering/Tooling Project Manager.
- Complete required training as directed by Engineering/Tooling Project Manager.

- Understanding of legislation/guidance e.g. reporting incidents, near miss reports, toolbox talks.
- Understanding of company safety management system.
- Demonstrate consistently good safety and housekeeping practices, good safety record.
- Good knowledge of emergency procedures.
- Work as part of a team and assists others.
- Always demonstrates good communications between colleagues/clients/office.
- Capable of coordinating and implementing planned maintenance system.
- Capable of identifying fault down to major component level.
- Demonstrate better than average knowledge of technical aspects of the MUX systems.
- Capable of mobilization and demobilization, organizing logistics and completing all relevant paperwork.
- Capable of assisting in the launch and recovery of IRS / MUX systems.
- Ability to coordinate dive records, video, audio and written format.
- Complete technical reports in detail.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of company QA and associated procedures.
- Demonstrate good basic leadership skills.
- Constantly demonstrates an ability to teach.
- Quality is consistently above established standards and in accordance with procedures.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Shall preferably be qualified in an Electronics Technician discipline.
- Shall possess extensive knowledge of current safety and quality standards as applied to systems and their requirements in an offshore environment.
- Shall possess current offshore survival, medical certification and passport.
