Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Section Head, Business Development and Events, the job-holder is to act as the project manager of assigned projects. Main duties include:

  • To plan and execute marketing activities for fairs. To bring benefits to exhibitors and buyers and keep them abreast of market development.  The marketing activities include conferences, seminars, forums, workshops, webinars, opening ceremonies, luncheons, thematic cocktail receptions, gala dinner, product demonstration or launching sessions, entertainment performances and parades etc. 

  • To take charge of event planning, preparation and execution, and to follow up with both internal and external parties including fair co-organisers and strategic partners, multipliers and vendors

  • To identify good and useful seminar topics and invite representatives from Government, trade associations and companies to be speakers or guests of the fair events

  • To promote marketing events using online marketing tools such as eDM, online event schedule, social media, etc

  • To draft speeches or talk notes for officiating guests attending the opening ceremonies or receptions; as well as MC scripts for events  

 

Requirements:

  • A recognised university degree with at least 10 years' solid working experience, preferably with sizable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc.

  • Strong inclination and understanding of Hong Kong's economy, trade and business arena covering various Hong Kong industries, and markets and business opportunities for Hong Kong companies

  • Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language will be an advantage

  • Superior skills in sales/marketing and communication

  • A strong team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills

  • Self-motivated and outgoing with good project planning ability

  • Detail-minded and organised

  • Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressure

  • Be prepared to work during weekends on need basis 

     

Remuneration and Benefits:

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
