The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), the statutory organisation promoting Hong Kong’s external trade, seeks a dynamic, high-caliber and experienced professional to join our Exhibitions and Digital Business Department.
Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Section Head, Business Development, the job-holder is to act as the Project Manager of Food and Beverage and/or Wine Fair. Main duties include:
- To manage the project(s) and monitor the exhibitor recruitment status for achieving the sales and revenue targets
- To coordinate with local and overseas multipliers/ sales agents for exhibitor recruitment
- To liaise with external and internal parties, including local and overseas trade/industry associations, other organisers and co-organisers, to develop and implement the project
- To expand and upgrade the fair(s) via working with different marketing/ promotional partners, develop and maintain relationships with industry players and customers to understand their needs and obtain market intelligence
- To conduct sales calls/ visits and organise roadshows as needed
- To supervise and plan on-site operations and logistics in related to the fair(s)
Requirements:
- A recognised university degree with at least 5 years’ solid working experience, preferably with sizeable organisations, in any of the following areas: sales and marketing; trading; exhibition/event organisation; project management; public/corporate relations; or network/relationship building etc.
- Good understanding of Hong Kong’s economy, trade and business arena covering key industries and markets as well as opportunities and challenges of SMEs
- Excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese, including Putonghua; knowledge of a third language will be an advantage
- A strong team player with excellent leadership, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Self-motivated and detail-minded with good project management ability
- Outgoing and be appreciate to work with people of different cultures
- Innovative, flexible and be able to deliver under time and resource pressures
- Willing to work overtime and on weekends or public holidays as necessary
Remuneration and Benefits:
Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. A competitive remuneration and benefits package, including annual leave, medical and dental benefits, will be offered.
