The Senior Accountant is responsible to execute the monthly close process for all accounting of holding companies and Canadian entities. Additionally, the Senior Accountant will have the opportunity to assist with consolidation of the Company’s global results, and the closing of the Company Corporate ledger. This position has significant interaction with business unit finance professionals and Corporate office functional department leaders.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Accounting for the activity of the holding companies and Canadian entities including treasury transactions and expense accruals.
  • Responsible for preparation of journal entries relating to holding companies and Canadian entities.
  • Responsible for preparation of account reconciliations and analysis relating to Corporate, holding companies and Canadian entities.
  • Support external audits and liaise with third party accounting firms to coordinate financial statement preparation and timely filings for holding companies.
  • Preparation of monthly variance analysis of operating plan and forecast against actual results for all Corporate departments.
  • Assist in the preparation of the monthly consolidated cashflow statement.
  • Assist in monthly consolidations activities as needed.
  • Manage correspondence with external auditors related to the global consolidation process and monthly corporate closing process.
  • Participate in the continued Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) compliance for the corporate office.
  • Complete ad-hoc analysis and participate in special projects as necessary

Required Qualifications:

  • BS/BA/BBA (Accounting) with CPA preferred.
  • 3 - 5 years of accounting experience in Public Accounting or in-house with a publicly traded company.
  • Self-motivated individual with a high attention to detail, results-orientation, and commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills.
  • Proven ability to establish and build relationships across an organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with associates at varying levels across the Company.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Blackline tool a plus.
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) tool a plus.
  • Corporate accounting experience with a multi-entity, multi-national company beneficial.
