Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Controls Engineer. This is a hybrid position based out of our Nashua, NH location.

How you will make an impact:

As a Controls Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and supporting advanced PLCs, safety devices, HMIs, and control systems for custom-designed presses, converting equipment, and sophisticated machine vision system controls. This position will enable you to apply your extensive knowledge of various control systems, leading and participating in a diverse range of projects alongside a highly skilled team.

  • Serve as lead controls engineer within the Advanced Process Technology group.
  • Provide technical, diagnostic, investigative and repair support to manufacturing as needed.
  • Create machine interactions with plantwide SCADA to communicate production data and machine status.
  • Design, install and commission control cabinets in support of new capital equipment projects.
  • Perform preventive maintenance program tasks with production and engineering personnel.
  • Perform program backups and maintain spares for Crane Nashua OT.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering or related field.
  • 6 – 8 years of experience in controls engineering, PLC programming, or related field.
  • Experience with Ignition SCADA systems
  • Experience with Allen Bradley and Beckhoff controls
  • Experience wiring low voltage control cabinet components
  • Working understanding Network protocols and architecture
  • Ability to wire low voltage power supplies and controls.

Preferred:

  • Ability to program in TwinCAT a plus
  • Experience with RexRoth a plus
  • Python scripting a plus(in Ignition)
  • Experience with iX Developer a plus (Beijer HMI software)
