This position is based in Kansas City, MO, reports to our Proposal Manager, and is part of a team of more than nine proposal development professionals, who work collaboratively to craft compliant, compelling proposals that win business.

  • Strategize and coordinate the development of proposals to include boilerplate, custom content creation, and technical writing provided by subject matter experts.
  • Format proposals using firm template.
  • Review proposals for compliance with requirements, clarity, and flow.
  • Proofread proposals in accordance with AP Style and internal style guide.
  • Assist with production of proposals, including occasional hard copies.
  • Run queries from CRM database, as needed.
  • Assist in content development and editing, as needed.
  • Manage multiple assigned tasks/projects.
  • Communicate with all levels of associates from executive management to staff.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned.

    Requirements:
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism, Business, Communications, or other Liberal Arts major preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience with a professional services firm or government agency with at least one year (preferred) in proposal and/or grant writing/development or procurement.
  • Strong project management, editing/writing, proofreading, and communication skills required.
  • Strong understanding of AP Style.
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with all levels of management and various stakeholders (team members, partners, clients) to achieve results.
  • Comfort with facilitating/leading meetings and/or presentations.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology, such as Microsoft Office applications, Sharepoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong organization skills with excellent follow through.
  • Ability to manage projects simultaneously within established deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt to changing deadlines, requirements, and quick turnaround times.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
  • Self-motivated and assertive.
