Computercraft is a growing company in search of a senior-level finance person for a full-time permanent position in Washington, D.C. The candidate should have a substantial and well-rounded background in finance and accounting to qualify for this hands-on position. In particular, the candidate must have experience in working with government contracts, indirect rates, T&M/FFP billing, A/R, A/P, payroll, and monthly close processes. We are looking for a strategic thinker who also has the experience and willingness to perform some day-to-day accounting requirements. The individual would supervise one part-time accountant.
Key aspects of the role:
Develop financial strategies linked to business objectives throughout the company
Develop solutions to business challenges
Create a culture of accountability, efficiency, transparency, and collaboration within the accounting team
Ensure operational efficiency through financial strategy, forecasting, annual and multi-year budgeting, internal investments, enterprise risk management, capital expenditure execution, audit compliance, contracts management, banking and related debt agreements, cash flow management, and internal controls
Assist in requirements definition and implementation of new enterprise accounting software
Implement operational improvements to financial and business processes
Frequent engagement with corporate and contract staff and their teams, including collaboration with sibling company staff
Assist in the development of best practices and policies
Manage semi-monthly payroll (Not responsible for running payroll)
Prepare monthly invoices
Prepare the budget and forecast
Assist in pricing and rate calculations for government contracts
Closing of monthly books including preparation of monthly financial statements and budget comparisons
Prepare supporting documentation for tax returns and annual audit
Prepare monthly and quarterly GSA submission requirements
Other ad hoc analysis as needed
B.S. in accounting or finance
Knowledge of government procurement regulations
Knowledge of government-approved accounting systems
12-15 years of accounting experience
Experience with Microsoft 365 including Excel
Knowledge of Indirect Rate structure
Attention to detail
Strong analytical skills
Strong work ethic and communication skills
Ability to work well with others
Flexibility and willingness to "chip-in" in a small business environment
Familiarity with GSA schedule contracts
This is a full-time position working in Washington, D.C., but the new hire will initially telework. Currently, all Computercraft employees are teleworking full time to prevent the spread of coronavirus. Employees will return to onsite work as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
