GeneReviews is an international point-of-care resource for busy clinicians that provides clinically relevant and medically actionable information for inherited conditions in a standardized journal-style format, covering diagnosis, management, and genetic counseling for patients and their families. Each chapter in GeneReviews is written by one or more experts on the specific condition or disease and goes through a rigorous editing and peer review process before being published online.
The Project Manager processes and directs the flow of documents and correspondence between GeneReviews Editors and volunteer authors before publication. Daily tasks include:
In addition to shepherding specific GeneReviews chapters through the editing process, the Project Manager retains a high-level view of contract goals, progress, and sticking points. The Project Manager is able to:
The Project Manager also performs some administrative tasks, including helping to organize a booth for a scientific meeting and staffing the booth at that meeting.
Work Environment: This is a full-time position working on site at the GeneReviews office in Seattle, Washington, but the new hire will initially telework due to the pandemic. During this time of remote work, the Project Manager will work during regular business hours, and attend a weekly Editors' meeting on Zoom. The GeneReviews team will return to onsite work as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.
