We have an exciting opportunity for a motivated Data Analyst to join our Philanthropy, Sustainability & Equality (PS&E) team. Reporting to the Manager, PS&E Initiatives, the Analyst will support Crane Company’s sustainability endeavors by ensuring proper data management around our tracked metrics. The role involves analysis of the collected data, ensuring data completeness and accuracy that will feed into our annual sustainability publications, and tracking our progress towards our 2030 targets.  Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Responsible for the maintenance of the global sustainability data
    • Conduct monthly data validation processes (data complete and within expected ranges;) Follow up on all outliers to get details behind the trends
    • Ensure auditability of data with proper supporting documentation
    • Work closely with site-based data loaders to ensure accurate data
  • Responsible for the development of data portions of decks for executive leadership and board of directors
    • Aid executive team with data summarization
  • Draft monthly internal communications on sustainability updates and performance tracking towards targets
  • Assist businesses with the preparation of their quarterly President’s Performance Reports around emissions data performance and initiatives
  • Assist in the roll-out of data management software
  • Highly involved in the roll-out of new tracked metrics
    • Coordination with site-based reporting contacts
    • Development of standard work instructions
    • Conduct trainings to ensure consistent methodology across sites
  • Assist in the development of a Scope 3 emissions data tracking methodology  
  • Data preparation for the annual Philanthropy, Sustainability, and Equality report
    • Data compilation in alignment with chosen frameworks
  • Assist the legal department with special projects as needed 

Required Skills:

  • Proficient with Microsoft office suite with advanced skills in Excel
  • Experience with PowerBI
  • Project Management - drawing inputs from multiple parties and consolidating information
  • Excellent critical thinking and analytical skills, with the ability to present metrics, explain findings, and articulate issues and challenges
    • Proven experience storytelling through data and the generation of data visualizations
  • Exceptional organizational skills 
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with stakeholders on multiple levels

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree from an accredited College or University
  • Degree in business, finance, accounting, computer science, sustainability management, or equivalent preferred
  • 2+ years’ work experience in relevant roles
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
