Position Summary:

The Business Data Analyst will be responsible for driving key strategic initiatives to improve the brands position within the current and target markets.  Key functions will include the collection, analysis and reporting of sales/orders/market related data. This position will assist the VP/GM in guiding pricing recommendations, planning, and forecasting through the creation of custom reports.

Principle Duties (includes, but is not limited to):

Strategy development and deployment

o    Lead data analysis and generation of insights related to 80-20 including various elements such as quad analysis, identifying work drivers, product line simplification options, customer line simplification options.

o    Lead research and analysis for business teams as a part of Grassroots strategy development to assess market sizing, competitive landscape, value chain analysis, economic value assessment, voice of customer, customer segmentation, commercialization plans and industrialization plans for strategic growth initiatives.

o    Support the research and analysis required to support the annual 3-year Strategic plan and 1-year Operational plan.

o    Assists VP/GM with project management / Stage gate tracking for NPD projects.

Business Analytics

o    Support co-ordination across various product lines to track and consolidate key commercial metrics such as share gain, price, mix, market data etc.

o    Support development of market input for Resistoflex by analyzing external market trends, earnings calls, tracking competitors and key customers.

o    Track and manage sales analytics, industry/performance trends, and industry event insights.

o    Reporting and analysis including executive reporting of sales and marketing results, key metrics and KPIs, campaign tracking and analysis, and ad hoc strategic analysis. 

o    Prepares monthly and weekly reports to be used by group management by consolidating data from various sources.

o    Prepares templates to be used throughout group for various tasks (e.g. month-end, forecasts, etc.). Recommends revisions to existing reports or assists in the development of new reporting tools as needed.

o    Assists VP/GM with SIOP process, annual operating plan preparation, monthly pulse, quarterly forecasts, and weekly pulses (mini forecast of month and quarter).

o    Supports research and analysis for Brand product sourcing strategy and supports creation and development of business models.

o    Develops product application training material.

o    Monitors competitor marketing and pricing activities and develops counter strategies.

o    Participates actively in the Quality and CBS processes including project team involvement, problem solving, and recommending solutions to improve and enhance the quality of departmental and/or company-wide activities.

o    Handles confidential and sensitive information.

o   Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

·         Undergraduate degree in Chemical, Materials or Mechanical Engineering

·         MBA with preferred concentrations of Strategy, Finance or Marketing

·         At least 2 years of work experience in chemical or pharmaceutical or energy industry.

·         Business analytics experience

·         Ability to be review and analyze prospective company and sales data

·         Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills with ability to quickly build relationships with those inside and outside the business.

·         Excellent written and oral communications skills

·         Excellent project management skills

·         Effective time management skills
