The Analyst, Financial Systems & Reporting is a pivotal figure in Crane's Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) process, ensuring the seamless integration of financial systems and reporting frameworks across newly acquired entities. With a keen understanding of the intricacies involved in M&A transactions, the Analyst collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to assess, strategize, and execute the integration of financial systems, processes, and data. The role also provides accurate and timely consolidated reporting of financial data.

This role has significant interaction with the Corporate Controllership and FP&A teams, as well as business unit finance teams. The role serves as a key member of financial systems support for M&A and supports the administration and management of Hyperion Financial management (HFM.) The role applies a mix of analytical, functional, design and technical skills to develop and implement innovative solutions that drive continuous process improvement. The role also provides support to other business systems.

This role is hybrid, partially based in the Stamford, CT office and partially remote.

Responsibilities:

  • M&A Financial Systems Support: Provide specialized support for HFM and other financial systems during M&A activities, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of financial data.
  • Collaboration with Corporate Controllership and FP&A Teams: Work closely with the Corporate Controller, FP&A teams, and business unit finance teams to facilitate seamless integration of financial systems and reporting processes.
  • Key Member of M&A Financial Systems Support: Play a pivotal role in supporting financial systems during M&A transactions, contributing to the administration and management of HFM.
  • Analytical Approach: Utilize a combination of analytical, functional, design, and technical skills to develop and implement innovative solutions that enhance financial reporting accuracy and efficiency.
  • Create and maintain system, process, internal control, and change management documentation and ensure application of established governance processes and controls.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, MIS or Business, Accounting related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Finance consolidation, FP&A, Data Analytics, or related field.
  • 3+ years' experience working with HFM, FDMEE and Financial Reporting / SmartView. Strong experience with HFM and FDMEE applications is a must.
  • Solid working knowledge of financial consolidation concepts (e.g., CTA, intercompany eliminations), P&L and Balance Sheet processes.
  • Proven experience in financial systems management and reporting, with a demonstrated focus on supporting M&A activities. Experience in HFM and FDMEE deployment during M&A.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to business and technical associates.
  • Maintain a continuous improvement and problem solver mindset.
  • Must be a team player with the ability to work independently and be accountable for results.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

  • CPA, CMA and/or Financial Planning and Analysis Certificate (FPAC)
  • Master’s in computer science or Business Administration is a plus.
  • Experience with data mining tools, MS-Power BI, Qlik sense and dashboard creation.
  • HFM and FDMEE certifications or administration training from Oracle or partner.
  • Experience with SQL, ERP systems, Oracle, Azure-cloud, SAP ERP systems and other systems/solutions/tools.
  • Advanced MS Excel abilities, Visual Basic and/or VB.Net.
