Attention Application Developers!  We have a great Job opportunity at Crane Currency; a fully integrated supplier of banknotes for central banks from all over the world. 

This IT Applications Developer job is located at our Dalton, MA site and is part of a strong team of professionals. You will be maintaining the strategic analysis, reporting and tracking systems that collect, store and use information from the production of currency paper and banknotes, which is vital to the success of our business.

Responsibilities:

  • Programing, testing and implementing changes and enhancements to systems that collect, store and use information from the production of currency paper and banknotes.
  •  Use standard development tools to maintain commercial off-the-shelf applications as well as the integration of custom development 
  • Follow coding standards and guidelines set by the Application team and use appropriate change management procedures
  • Provide end-user support for local site and additional locations as needed
  • Track and resolve IT issues using ITSM tools to ensure the MES is operational 24x7
  • Identify & address recurring issues within applications 
  • Maintain software application repository using Visual Studio
  • Collaborate with third party application support vendors as needed

Qualifications:

  • Key language knowledge needed: SQL C# .Net VBA
  • Understanding Software Development Life Cycles
  • Strong fact finding and Problem-solving 
  • Competency in Visual Studio Development tools, C# and Visual Basic
  • Competency in Microsoft SQLServer Management Studio
  • Working knowledge of Proficy Plant Applications or DSI development is a Plus
  • Demonstrated strength in effective work relationships and ability to influence without formal authority
  • Proven high level of initiative with talent for anticipating and acting on next steps
  • Proven ability to interact with tact at all organizational levels and across all disciplines
  • Strong interpersonal skills & proven experience working successfully in a team environment
  • HS Diploma or equivalent, college degree is preferred
