Co-Op – Mechanical Engineering 

CRANE Currency in Alpharetta, GA is seeking a Co-Op. This is full-time position that allows you to gain the practical work experience and also gives you an opportunity to use your college learnings in the real world. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create all drawings as needed to build or modify equipment.
  • Perform engineering calculations as required to ensure equipment meets design goals.
  • Perform field measurements and document existing equipment to ensure modifications can be implemented and that design goals are met.
  • Perform basic hands on mechanical assembly.
  • Obtain quotes and pricing from vendors.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor degree at an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or related major field of study.
  • Available to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday
  • Experience using SolidWorks to design mechanical parts and assemblies.
  • Experience using AutoCAD to create 2 dimensional drawings.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Knowledge of fabrication and machining processes
  • Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, analytical/problem-solving abilities and organization.
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
  • Superior written & verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.

 

SUSTABILITY AND BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION REQUIREMENTS:  The final offer of employment will be subject to the applicant's successful completion of a background investigation and favorable adjudication.
