Crane Currency is looking to fill a Global Category Manager Job

The Global Category Manager will be responsible for managing the Chemicals, Resins, Film, and Inks for CRANE's Global business. This key Supply Chain role will be located in our Nashua, NH facility.  The selected person will support global category / commodity strategies on ~$32M in annual global spend on chemicals, resins, film, UV inks and other assigned categories.

Global Commodities Manager - Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead negotiator and liaison between the sourcing organization, suppliers, projects teams, engineering, and senior leadership for the strategies and management of $>$30M in commodity spend ensuring support of global continuous manufacturing operations in terms of safety, quality, delivery, cost and growth.

  • Provide strong leadership, driving results, collaborating and relationship management across internal and external cross-functional stakeholders.  Maintaining technical aptitude, fostering organizational and communication skills throughout. Lead the execution of strategic sourcing processes that enable the achievement of business objectives. 

  • Develop and implementation of contracting and procurement best practices across all assigned categories, including supplier qualification, RFQ process, negotiations, contract development and administration

  • Manage the sourcing tollgate processes on the commodity projects. Run regularly scheduled project calls with cross functional team, closely managing teams progress to committed timelines

  • Meet with suppliers, attend technical seminars, visit Dalton, MA site, and other business travel for up to 25% travel

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree preferably in Business, SC Management, Chemistry, related Operations discipline; or, Engineering plus 5 years equivalent work experience

  • Prior category /supply chain management experience

  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills; including a working understanding of contractual terms and conditions including risk mitigation

  • Ability to manage a multitude of globally dispersed projects

  • Applicants must be United States citizens and will need to demonstrate Suitability for employment in a Position of Public Trust consistent with our U.S. Government contract requirements

Desired:

  • Master’s in Business Administration

  • Professional Certifications in related subject areas.

  • Prior experience in the chemicals and/or manufacturing environment (paper or other continuous flow / process manufacturing)
