Crane Currency is currently offering a full-time paid Co-Op for a Data Systems position for the Summer of 2021 in our Dalton, MA facility. The successful candidate will contribute directly to the delivery of the Company initiatives, goals and objectives.  The Co-Op will be a member of a team that supports manufacturing and operations within Crane U.S. Government Products.

A Data Systems Co-Op conducts work to support information technology processes and data system development with the goal of maintaining high operational performance of Crane’s U.S. Government Products business.  The position reports to the Technical Director, but works most closely with the Principal Business Systems Engineer for day-to-day activities.


  • Provide technical and analytical assistance to investigate, troubleshoot, and correct issues with data collection, data transfer, system access, and reporting.
  • Convert Excel forms into SQL Server Report Services (SSRS) format. Includes use SQL and coding work.
  • Assist with administering data systems including assessing functionality and performance, including Manufacturing Execution Systems and Quality Systems Management software.
  • Develop displays for real-time data visualization.
  • Develop metrics to assess on-going data system performance.
  • Work safely within a manufacturing and office environment and adhere to standard practices involving safety and personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain open communications and positive working relationships with staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Applicants must be enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree at an accredited institution in Engineering, Sciences, Manufacturing, or related major field of study.
  • Available to work a full-time schedule, 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday.
  • Must be U.S. citizen.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, analytical/problem-solving abilities, and organizational skills.
  • Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
