Job Description: 

The Denver Museum of Nature & Science is hiring a Bilingual Evaluation Researcher to join our team! This position is responsible for supporting the community research and evaluation efforts throughout the museum. The Bilingual Evaluation Researcher will measure the outcomes and impact of current and future exhibitions, programs, activities, and services we offer to visitors, potential visitors, and the greater community. This position may also manage project teams, facilitate meetings, and communicate with key stakeholders. The projects are diverse and we work and respond rapidly to the needs of our colleagues. No two days are ever the same!

A bilingual pay differential of $2080/year will be applied for all bilingual applicants.

 

Essential Duties:

  • Communicates and advocates for visitor and community perspectives to ensure our visitors and community are at the core of what we do.
  • Co-creates and manages detailed project schedules, continuously monitoring status, communicating key tasks internally and externally to ensure projects are completed on-schedule and on budget.
  • Responsible for designing research questions, bilingual instrument development and design, prototyping and testing, data collection, data entry, and analysis for all phases of projects and studies—including front-end, prototyping, process, formative, remedial and summative.
  • When appropriate, conducts the following data analysis techniques: statistical significance testing, correlations analysis, multivariate analysis techniques (such as cluster/segmentation analysis) and conjoint and discrete choice analysis.
  • Completes written and oral reports and presentations to internal and external stakeholders in English and Spanish, as needed, to the highest professional standards, tailoring content as appropriate to audiences.
  • Plans and executes analyses of visitor data from other Museum sources, including membership, admissions, and online, as needed.
  • Assists the Manager of Community Research & Collaboration to recruit, train, and develop a diverse and inclusivity-focused Research Assistant team reflective of and responsive to Metro Denver’s communities.

 

Minimum qualifications/Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in social science, museum studies, education, nonprofit management, or related field required.  
  • 2 years’ experience conducting quantitative and qualitative social science research and/or evaluation required.  Years of experience can include professional, internship, and coursework experience.
  • Occasional travel to/from conferences and meetings, in and out of state required.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel required.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office suite as well as web enabled applications required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) speaking, reading, and writing required.
  • The Museum loves science.  As a science institution, the Museum believes in the science behind vaccines.  Effective September 1, 2021, all new hires must present proof of being vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of hire.

  • Experience doing evaluation in a Museum or informal learning environment
  • Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders on a project
  • Experience training data collectors on research projects
  • A passion for creating inclusive and engaging evaluation tools
  • Experience creating readable reports and presenting evaluation findings to stakeholders
  • Experience building and maintaining strategic partnerships with multicultural community groups
  • Strong data visualization skills
