Crane Currency has an immediate position opening for a Environmental Specialist, Part time. Based out of TUMBA.

Your ability to make the benefits of your work tangible to the associates will help increase adoption and drive success on the metrics of safety and environmental impact. You will work on trending and heat maps to highlight areas of concern throughout the organization and make the appropriate recommendations on priority areas for continuous improvement. In your role you will also: 

  • Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental sustainability programs for compliance assurance.
  • Stay updated with and enforce relevant local (municipal), national (Sweden) and international environmental sustainability regulations, guidelines, and practices. 
  • Work with the emergency response team on site to address environmental incidents such as chemical leaks and spills.  
  • Obtain, enforce, maintain and if necessary, renew environmental permits and licenses required by regulation. Also including submit required environmental notices to regulatory agencies
  • Identify and solve violations of environmental sustainability regulations, guidelines and practices. Review and recommend improvements to existing environmental sustainability programs for compliance assurance. 

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required experience 

  • Education: University degree or university education in the environmental science / engineering or a related field. 
  • Managing and Coordinating activities so that business meets expectations under agreed environmental permit according to the Swedish Environmental Code.  
  • Providing guidance and direction to management and support the departments on environmental sustainability questions for ensuring compliance.  
  • Reporting and collaborating with parent company on environmental sustainability areas for improvements across the group´s different sites around the world.  
  • Conducting regular environmental inspections and risk assessment on operations to determine risk level and minimize risk. 
  • Investigation of environmental accidents and propose corrective actions.
  • Establish, set targets for, and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify progress on environmental sustainability metrics 
  • Language: Good knowledge of both Swedish and English (speech and writing)
  • IT: Good knowledge of the Office suite

Preferred:  

  • Experience in inspections, chemical work and ISO 14001 
  • Knowledgeable about current environmental regulations and potential regulatory changes as well as Sustainability developments in manufacturing businesses 
  • LEAN manufacturing practices

Your role is in Tumba, Stockholm, located in the historic Tumba Bruk area, five-minute walking distance from the train station, 30 km south of Stockholm, and about 20 minutes from Stockholm Central Station.
