DIVISION: Environmental Health
HOURS: 29 hours per week with some weekends and holidays. Flexible schedule with primary four (4) day work week at 7.25 hours per work day Tuesday through Friday.
A comprehensive position in the Environmental Health Division. Performs technical investigations in all Environmental Health Programs. Responsibilities include regulatory work in the food, potable water, private sewage, solid waste, tanning, body art, public beach and public health nuisance programs. Learning and application of general Environmental Health practices and techniques. Comfortable in a fast paced, high volume, multi-tasking workplace. Team oriented environment.
Food establishment, water well, onsite wastewater treatment system, body art and tanning facility inspections, and complaint investigations.
Bachelor degree with a minimum of 30 hours of biological or physical science. Licensed Environmental Health Practitioners preferred. Non-licensed, entry level applicants are encouraged to apply. Licensure through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation is required within 3 years of employment.
