Job Title: Automation Designer- Robotic

Main Responsibilities

• Responsible for the robotic design, programming, definition of technical characteristics and start-up on various projects;
• Create engineering drawings;
• Prepare reports, specifications, estimates and proposals according to client needs;
• Draft project-specific technical documentation;
• Identify and consult with potential suppliers;
• Resolve issues using a variety of innovative and existing methods and techniques, and conduct comparative studies;
• Measure client satisfaction and maintain close relations with clients;
• Conduct inspections and technical surveys;
• Plan, coordinate and oversee site follow-ups.

Qualifications

• Member of the Ordre des Ingénieurs du Québec;
• Diploma in Instrumentation or Automation;
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience as an automation/instrumentation engineer or an equivalent  combination of training and experience;
• Familiar with Wondeware, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, Siemens Simatic;
• Knowledge of ABB, Fanuc, Kuka, etc.;
• Work experience in various automation sectors (asset);
• Experience in automation programming, HMI, DCS in various programming languages;
• Excellent knowledge of IT, server/client systems and process networking;
• Very good command of French and good working knowledge of English (oral and written) and, effective oral and written communication;
• Strong commitment to the continuous development of technical skills and know-how;
• Strong project management, technical writing and complex problem solving skills in an independent manner;
• Constantly abreast of new business opportunities with clients;
• Knowledge of electrical code.
