Position Summary
Technical Specialist for the engine shop of an automotive manufacturing environment. Job requirements include the analysis and improvement of current
production processes and coordination of new model and launches.

Essential Functions

  • Serve as technical expert of assigned area during new vehicle and/or launches.
  • Coordinate and lead quality project activities, including design, supplier selection and implementation phases.
  • Analyze & continuously improve performance of assigned area (Safety, Quality, Production, Cost, and Human Factors).
  • Develop and update Business Management System (BMS) documentation related to all Engine areas.
  • Participate in Cross Functional Teams (CFT) and other Problem Solving Teams, as directed by Senior Management.
  • Serve as a technical expert for Team Members & Team Leaders, Group Leaders including technical training, as required.
  • Support daily production issues as required.
  • Continually review quality developments in area of responsibility and propose new quality projects as appropriate.
  • Report current projects, progress, and issues to management. Prepare presentations and reports as required.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
    System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Position Requirements
Education

Bachelor’s degree in
Engineering/Industrial or equivalent
desired

Related Experience

  •  0 – 10 years of job related experience
    preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing environment
    preferred
  • Experience in automotive machining
    processes, tooling capability, and
    dimensional quality systems desired

Additional Information
Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call
duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
