Position Summary:

Process Test Specialist for assembly area within Engine Production in an automotive manufacturing environment. Perform engineering duties related to in-process testing of engine assemblies.

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret blueprint, technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and computer-generated reports.
  • Create Standard Work Instructions for processes and procedures related to In-Process Testing (IPT).
  • Investigate equipment issues, developing repair and improvement methods.
  • Periodic reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) of work activities, line function, and improvement results.
  • Monitor and interpret quality data, using root cause analysis principles such as DOE, Pareto Charts, etc.
  • Develop and implement robust countermeasures and improvement activities.
  • Serve as a technical expert to Team Members, providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production testing, including the selection of manufacturing methods, equipment design, product design, and
    equipment operations.
  • Assist the calibration area with regular calibration activities.
  • Develop and implement Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost improvements (SQPC).
  • Develop and update Business Management System (BMS) documentation.
  • Support daily production activities.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
    System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired.

Related Experience:

  • 0 – 10 years job related experience preferred. 

Skills / Knowledge:

  • MS Word, Excel, & PowerPoint 

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
