Position Summary:

Technical Specialist for assembly area in engine shop in an automotive manufacturing environment. Perform engineering duties in planning and designing
Machines and other mechanically functioning equipment. 

Essential Functions:

  • Read and interpret blueprint, technical drawings, electrical diagrams, and computer-generated reports.
  • Investigate equipment issues, developing repair and improvement methods.
  • Periodic reporting (daily, weekly, monthly, etc.) of work activities, line function, and improvement results.
  • Program and monitor quality control systems such as, error proofing, press force monitoring, and in-line auto torque stations.
  • Monitor and interpret quality data, using root cause analysis principles such as DOE, Pareto Charts, etc.
  • Develop and implement robust countermeasures and improvement activities.
  • Serve as a technical expert to Team Members, providing technical assistance as needed.
  • Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including the selection of manufacturing methods, equipment design, product design, and
    equipment operations.
  • Coordinate and control gauges and gauge equipment related to the manufacturing process. Assist the calibration department with regular calibration
    activities.
  • Develop and implement Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost improvements.
  • Develop and update Business Management System (BMS) documentation.
  • Support daily production activities.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management
    System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred

Related Experience

  • 1 – 10 years job related experience preferred
  • At least 1 year experience with PLC

Skills / Knowledge

  • MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Training / Certification

  • Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call
duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
