Position Summary:

Responsible for all purchasing activities relating to cost, quality and service for Maintenance, Repair, and Operating (MRO) products and services, and Direct Raw Materials at HMMA.

Essential Functions:

·         Select, develop, and manage supply base for General Purchasing products and services by:

(1)  Preparing Request for Quotations (RFQ) for user department requirements.

(2)  Negotiating spot purchases and long-term agreements.

(3)  Maintaining competitive pricing.

(4)  Leading yearly cost reduction activities.

(5)   Monitoring supplier quality and delivery performance.

  • Formulate and implement yearly commodity and supply base strategy.  
  • Work closely with supplier to optimize supplier processes.
  • Explore available technology and implement best practices related to purchasing activities.
  • Plan, organize, track and disseminate information related to General Purchasing suppliers.
  • Maintain up-to-date supply base information database.
  • Administer, coordinate, and comply with all Business management System (BMS), Environmental Systems Management (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS) requirements.
  • Meet all other requirements as assigned.

Position Requirements:

Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired

Related Experience

  • 1 – 5 years of job-related experience desired.

Skills / Knowledge

  • MS Word
  • MS Excel
  • MS PowerPoint
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, analytical, and organizational skills desired.

Training/Certification:

Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation preferred.

Additional Information:

Position may require occasional travel (domestic or foreign). Flexibility in working hours to include weekends, holidays, and off shift. Position may require on-call
duty or overtime due to overall responsibility.
