Assistant Manager, Reliability Engineering

Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Alabama LLC seeks Assistant Manager, Reliability Engineering responsible for monitoring and improving performance of Engine Manufacturing Lines by leading team of engineers and technicians in executing maintenance planning and continuous improvement initiatives.  Daily duties include:

•             Review and analyze production & maintenance data reports (which include data about energy usage, process time, equipment and automated controls functioning, and product quality) to discern the equipment performance KPIs;

•             Analyze root causes for deficits in KPIs and collaborate with Reliability Engineering team to document reports on root causes and proposals for remedies;

•             Present reports to management, and collaborate with representatives from other departments to plan and schedule proposed remedies that will require equipment outages for recalibration, improvement project implementation or other proactive maintenance;

•             Develop implementation plans for remedial measures, and support engineers and technicians in performing mechanical, programming, and other tasks necessary to implement remedies;

•             Review testing and production trial results and give approval;

•             Participate in long-term equipment reliability reinforcement activity planning and continuous improvement strategies with management, and contribute to Capital Project, Expense and Spare parts budget projections; and

•             Mentor team through daily meetings, periodic performance evaluations, and ensuring that all team members have access to and complete regular training and career development resources. 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Must have Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (foreign equivalent accepted).  Must have two years of engineering experience in automotive assembly and metal machining setting.  Experience must include the following: experience with Multi-Axis (6+), SCARA & Cartesian robotics programming and electrical / mechanical robot system maintenance; experience with PLC, CNC and HMI programming; electrical power controls systems interpretation and circuit design improvement; experience applying PFMEA analysis in automated assembly environment; experience programming and conducting analysis on automated fastening system and Servo press system; visual Basic and C language programming for mass data analysis; and vision system calibration and maintenance.
