Hospital Nurse Practitioner

(Acute Care/Family)

12 Hour Shifts

7 days on and 7 days off

 

 

Basic Purpose: To provide care and practice according to accepted standards and guidelines under the direction of the medical preceptor and in all collaborative/consultative relationship with other licensed practitioner.

 

Qualifications

Education: The FNP (APN) shall be licensed as a RN in the state of MS, successful completion of an advanced practice RN approved by the MS Board of Nursing, current national certification as a NP by the American Nurses Association in Family Practice or other acceptable specialty and maintain certification in ACLS and PALS, meet all continuing education requirements set forth by the MS Board of Nursing.

Experience:  Completion of all hours of Clinical Practicum required by the MS Board of Nursing; Experience in a physician office or clinic setting is a plus; Must be able to type, and have computer competence

Language /Communication /Organizational Skills: Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with all ages, especially the geriatric population; Demonstrate knowlege and utilization of appropriate skills for communicating with diverse cultures; Ability to assess situations, identify problems and work toward positive solutions; An ability to organize data and prioritize in a manner that will achieve positive outcomes.

Mathematical Skills: Basic math and an ability to calculate dosages

Reasoning Ability: Use personal knowledge, experience andother resources as necessary to make logical decisions and solve problems
