I.T. Systems Analyst I

Purpose:  The role of the Systems analyst is to ensure the successful implementation, configuration, maintenance, delivery, and documentation of information technology solutions within the hospital organization.  Test, schedule and perform software installations and upgrades to these technology solutions.  Study existing information processing systems to evaluate effectiveness and develop new systems to improve production or workflow as required.  Maintains data integrity by using information technology appropriately.  Perform audits of information technology systems to ensure compliance with organizational guidelines.  Maintains a database/library of all supporting documentation for supported technology solutions.  Seek to ensure that the integrity, uptime, performance, resources, and security of the system meets the needs of the organization without exceeding the budget or timelines.  Also may acquire, install, or upgrade computer components and software; provide routine automation; maintain security policies; troubleshoot; train and/or supervise staff; acquire knowledge and develop supporting skill-set; or technically support the system.  Must be willing to participate in an on call rotation and live within 30 minutes from the hospital.
 

Qualifications/Education:

  • Associate's degree or higher or equivalent experience in the I.T. field
  • 1-2 years of analyst experience preferred
  • Certification in Microsoft products and project management desirable

 

Physical Demands/Working Condition:  Requires prolonged sitting, some bending, stooping and stretching, eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, calculator and other office equipment.  Requires normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare and communicate appropriate reports.  Requires lifting papers or boxes up to 50 pounds occasionally.  Work is performed in an office environment.  Work may be stressful at times.  Contact may involve dealing with angry or upset people.  Staff must remain flexible and available to provide staffing assistance for any/all disaster or emergency situations.
