About the Position

TeraRecon is looking for an experienced, reliable, and organized accounting professional to become a valuable contributor to our Finance team. The Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for performing all duties necessary to facilitate the invoicing and collection of customer account balances. The AR Specialist position will be responsible for timely application of cash against customer accounts and monitoring past due accounts. These many tasks and responsibilities will require excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication with multiple departments and different levels of management.

The position is a based in our Durham, NC headquarters.


  • Generate accurate and timely customer invoices
  • Manage cash application through processing daily cash receipts
  • Actively monitor aging reports and initiate contact with customers to resolve delinquent balances
  • Work with internal and external business partners to resolve any billing issues and disputes
  • Perform bad debt analysis and manage the reserve balance
  • Assist with month-end close responsibilities and the annual audit
  • Ensure policies, procedures, and processes are documented and updated in a timely manner
  • Develop productive and effective working relationships with other departments throughout the company
  • Aid in additional projects and tasks as assigned to support the Finance team in accomplishing its goals


  • 5+ years of accounts receivable experience
  • Strong familiarity with collection process
  • Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
  • ERP experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills in basic accounts receivable
  • Effective professional communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • NetSuite experience is a plus


  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

Salary:  Depending on qualifications and experience.
