Business Development Manager - Insurance
Business Development Manager– Insurance Housing
Our Client, a highly regarded Corporate Housing Leader, is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Business Development Representative who will specialize in aggressive sales lead generation within the insurance housing sector. As a Business Development Representative, your primary focus will be selling to both new and existing clients. Your main responsibilities will include identifying potential business opportunities, generating new accounts, establishing strategic relationships with executives and adjusters, and actively contributing to market share growth. You will primarily work with National and Regional Carriers, Independent Adjusting Companies, Restoration Companies, and the National Catastrophe Segment. Excellent selling and networking skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:
Support and promote National's mission statement, strategic vision, and value proposition to customers
Execute a proactive sales strategy to achieve individual and team goals.
- Utilize strong negotiation skills and creative selling abilities to uncover and secure new business opportunities
- Conduct aggressive in-person sales call to market National’s services
- Effectively communicate and highlight National’s benefits and features based on customers' needs.
- Strengthen relationships with existing customers to expand market share.
- Achieve full penetration of business opportunities through strategic account development.
- Prepare compelling proposals and presentations for potential customers.
- Present to executive-level decision makers, unit managers, and adjusters.
- Position National for RFPs and aim to obtain corporate endorsement or placement on the preferred vendor list.
- Collaborate with local corporate housing market Account Executives to drive business growth.
- Understand and actively utilize brand marketing initiatives and incentives to close deals.
- Proactively communicate with the Director and General Manager.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date account data and reporting in Salesforce.
- Establish and maintain local relationships with other National divisions and Sales Organization.
- Foster a strong working relationship with Account Managers.
- Stay informed about the overall market, including competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, to effectively sell against them.
- Follow up on opportunities identified through other sales channels.
- Keep relevant stakeholders informed of trends, opportunities, and market changes.
- Set a positive example for guest relations.
- Clearly communicate expectations to customers throughout the sales process.
- Be prepared for last-minute travel and on-call duty in the event of a national catastrophe.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree is preferred (or 2-7 years equivalent training)
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to systematically solve problems and identify possible customer pain points, expectations, and implicit needs. Collaborates with team members to devise solutions for complex deal challenges.
- Excellent Communication skills – Tailors communication to the customer’s needs with authority. Uses rational and emotional drivers that would appeal to customers to comfortably drive negotiation conversations in their favor.
- Strong C-Level board presentation, verbal and written communication skills
- The ideal candidate should possess a hunter mindset and a strong drive to acquire and grow profitable accounts, demonstrating the determination and tenacity required for successful business development.
- Ability to offer and implement creative solutions in the selling process.
- Comfortable working in a in fast-paced environment with multiple responsibilities and moving parts.
- Ownership mentality: Goes above and beyond to complete tasks and has a relentless drive to achieve results. Works independently and takes initiative with minimal direction or supervision.
- Set’s clear, realistic, and time-bound objectives aligned with business growth.
- Previous experience and knowledge of the Pharmaceuticals, Insurance, Lodging or Corporate Housing Industries is a plus.
- Knowledge of revenue management.
Travel will be required.
Benefits:
· Competitive Compensation plus uncapped monthly commissions (dependent on book of business)
- Base annual salary range: $93,000 - $103,000
- Estimated on target monthly commissions of $850 - $1000 based on book of business and market conditions after ramp up, uncapped
