Position Summary

ECODIT is seeking a mid-level Web Development Specialist to support ECODIT’s USAID programming to provide technical assistance, programmatic support, and knowledge dissemination to USAID Missions and Bureaus. The Web Development Specialist will be integral to maintaining a Drupal-based website.

Key Responsibilities

  • Website Development and Maintenance: Develop and maintain project website using clean, efficient, maintainable code and address design adjustments, user functionality improvements, and layout updates.
  • Post content: Post content as needed for the site.
  • Troubleshooting and Support: Ensure smooth site functionality by addressing and resolving technical issues, debugging, and performing light system administration.
  • Content Integration: Manage web themes, customize panels, templates, and layouts, and work with design files to create HTML, CSS, and other web elements.
  • Custom Programming: Build modules for custom functionality and develop views using hook systems or other tools, per project requirements.
  • Database and Documentation Management: Perform database management tasks, including writing SQL queries and creating clear software documentation.
  • User Analytics and Reporting: Integrate Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to monitor site traffic and analyze user behavior.
  •  Emerging Technologies: Stay up-to-date with web development trends and recommend relevant enhancements.

Required Qualifications:

  • This individual must have US work authorization
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Development, or a related field; relevant certifications a plus.
  • At least 3 years of experience in web development, particularly in managing dynamic content-heavy websites, preferably for donor-funded or nonprofit projects.
  • Proficiency in web development languages (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and familiarity with platforms/web development frameworks
  • Demonstrated experience with Drupal
  • Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining, and improving website performance and user experience.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience in Google Analytics, SEO practices, and web performance optimization.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with USAID.
  • Familiarity with SQL scripting.
