Step into one of the most unique roles in the Australian snow industry. As a Skitube Train Driver, you’ll operate Australia’s only alpine railway—safely transporting thousands of guests and employees to and from the mountain each day. This is a position that requires absolute reliability, focus, and commitment

This role is not for everyone. It requires strict adherence to safety procedures, a willingness to train for several weeks, and the ability to work under pressure in an alpine environment. If you cannot confidently meet every essential requirement listed below, this role will not be suitable for you.

Mandatory Training

To be eligible, you must be available to complete one fully paid, 6-week intensive training block. These dates are fixed and cannot be modified:

  • Group 1: 23 February 2026 – 2 April 2026
  • Group 2: 7 April 2026 – 18 May 2026

If you cannot commit to one of these blocks in full, please do not apply.

About the Role

Skitube Train Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of trains across the Skitube network. You will follow timetables, stay vigilant under pressure, and ensure a high-quality guest experience. This role suits people who thrive in structured, safety-driven environments and value precision, teamwork, and professionalism.

What We’re Looking For

  • Availability to complete one full-time 6-week training block (Group 1 or Group 2)
  • Ability to complete intensive classroom, practical and assessment-based training
  • Ability to work a rotating roster throughout winter, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
  • A strong, proven safety mindset with the ability to stay focused, vigilant, and calm under pressure
  • Pass drug and alcohol testing at any time during your employment

If you cannot confidently answer “YES” to all essential points, this is not the right role.

Why Join Us

  • Fully paid, 6-week training program
  • Operate one of Australia’s most unique alpine transport systems
  • Staff accommodation available for those relocating from out of town
  • Vail Resorts Australia Staff Lift Pass for the season

  • A supportive and inclusive team culture that celebrates fun, professionalism, and mountain life

Important Information to Consider Before You Apply

  • Pass a pre-employment Category 1 rail medical, including drug and alcohol testing
  • Undergo random, post-incident, and targeted drug and alcohol testing throughout employment
  • Maintain a 0.00% BAC while on duty
  • Fully comply with the Rail Safety National Law 2012
