Perisher’s Skitube Train Operations team is seeking a safety-focused and adaptable individual for a year-round hybrid role supporting the Skitube Alpine Railway.
During winter operations, this role is responsible for the vigilant driving and control of Skitube trains in a safety-critical rail environment. During summer and non-operational periods, the role transitions to providing labouring and operational support to maintenance and capital works programs.
What You'll Be Doing
- Drive and control Skitube trains during winter operations in strict compliance with railway operating rules, safety systems, and procedures
- Monitor, facilitate, and record train movements, permits, and authorities in accordance with the railway timetable and Perisher policies
- Maintain competency in train driving, train control systems, and emergency response through ongoing training and assessment
- Operate SCADA and monitoring systems to ensure safe train movements and platform operations
- Provide labouring and operational support to Skitube Maintenance during summer, including preventative maintenance and capital works activities
- Assist with maintenance of rolling stock, track, tunnels, and associated infrastructure
- Operate Track Maintenance Vehicles and equipment within training and authorisation limits
- Support Ski Patrol and guest-facing teams as required, including assisting with injured guest movements
- Deliver professional, calm, and helpful service to guests and team members in all conditions
What You'll Bring
- Current NSW Driver Licence
- Ability to maintain high levels of concentration and vigilance in a safety-critical environment
- Calm, composed decision-making under pressure
- Strong commitment to safety, compliance, and following procedures
- Willingness to undertake training, assessment, and recertification as required
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a close-knit operational team
Medical & Rail Safety Compliance (Mandatory)
- Successfully pass a Category 1 Rail Medical (High Level Safety Critical Worker), including drug and alcohol testing
- Maintain medical fitness in accordance with Perisher’s Health and Fitness Monitoring Management Plan
- Comply with random, post-incident, and targeted drug and alcohol testing throughout employment
- Maintain a 0.00% Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) while on duty at all times
- Fully comply with the Rail Safety National Law and all associated operational requirements
