Reporting to the Financial Controller – Australia, this role will assist in managing financial accounting activities in accordance with accounting policy, procedures and practices to ensure that all levels of the organisation receive accurate, timely and relevant management and financial information to achieve business goals. The successful candidate will have a strong aptitude for balance sheet management, knowledge of ERP systems and supervisory experience will be highly regarded.

The role is based either in Perisher Valley/Jindabyne, Falls Creek, or Hotham or as a Work-From-Home arrangement. Perisher, the Southern Hemisphere’s largest ski resort, is in NSW’s Snowy Mountains, just two hours from Canberra and the Far South Coast. Falls Creek, Victoria’s premier all-season alpine village, offers ski-in-ski-out access in winter and transforms into an outdoor adventure hub in summer. Mount Hotham, set in the Victorian Alps, features breathtaking views, its own airport, and 320 hectares of ski terrain. Vail Resorts also operates renowned ski destinations worldwide, including Park City, Beaver Creek, Whistler Blackcomb, and Vail.

In a typical day in this role, you might:

  • Review the General Ledger across multiple entities ensuring balances are accurate and supported
  • Management of accounting costs in accordance with the company’s contractual and legal obligations including insurance, land tax, rates, utilities
  • Management of the company’s prepayment registers and ensuring timely release of costs
  • Prepare financial data and returns required for submission to regulatory bodies such as the NPWS, RMB, ABS, ATO and State Revenue Office

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • A business degree and professional membership of an accounting body (e.g. ACA, CPA, IPA or studying towards).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Supervisory experience
