Develop the next-gen of park or freeride pros

Join our Freeride or Freeski coaching teams, where natural terrain and slopestyle features drive progression, creativity, and confident mountain athletes.

As an experienced Freeride or Freeski Coach, you’ll lead athlete development across off-piste terrain and park environments, setting high standards through your energy, professionalism, and on-snow leadership.

Work closely with our coaching team to deliver safe, progressive sessions that build technical skill, creativity, confidence, and mountain awareness, while contributing to a strong culture across our Freeride and Freeski programs.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Deliver safe and engaging coaching sessions on and off snow
  • Support athlete skill development, confidence, and wellbeing.
  • Plan, build and maintain courses for training and competitions
  • Work independently while upholding high standards of safety and professionalism
  • Collaborate with coaches, and the wider mountain team to ensure positive athlete experiences
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to sharpen coaching skills

What You'll Bring

  • Freeride or Freeski coaching or instructor certification with freeride/freeski coaching experience.
    Examples include:
    – Freestyle Canada | NCCP (Comp Intro Certified - Park & Pipe Coach, Air Coach, Comp Dev Certified - Slopestyle Coach)
    – USSA (Freeski Level 100, 200)
    – CSIA Freestyle Certifications
    – PSIA Freestyle (Specialists 1, 2 and 3)
    – Other recognised international equivalents - See ISIA
  • Experience coaching Freeride or Freeski athletes across skill levels
  • Ability to plan and run on-snow and off-snow training programs
  • Skilled in course-setting for training and competitions
  • Strong understanding of long-term athlete development and wellbeing.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills; fluency in English
  • Commitment to safety, professionalism, and a positive, high-performance culture.

How We Work Together

Program Information
Program OpportunitiesA variety of Winter Sports Program options exist across Perisher, Falls Creek, and Hotham.
Lesson SupportSuccessful applicants will be expected to assist the Snowsports School with instructing lessons outside of their assigned program hours.
Program DaysCoaches may be employed between 2 to 5 days per week, depending on program registrations and scheduling needs.
Program RegistrationProgram registrations remain open until June. If coaches are not assigned to a program they will need to fulfil their availability commitments as a Snowsports Instructor.
Certification RequirementUncertified (experienced) coach applicants may be considered but will be required to complete an APSI Instructor Certification.
If required, the Snowsports School will cover course and exam fees.
Associated costs, such as the APSI Manual and Membership package , will be the responsibility of the employee.

Employment Availability

Our Instructors and Coaches are employed casually, with the following options:

Unlimited Availability: For full-season instructors, typically work up to six (6) days per week over Winter (June–September). Ideal for consistent work, training and eligibility for staff accommodation.

Limited Availability: For balancing other commitments. Must meet minimum availability requirements (see below), and arrange your own accommodation:
