Shape the Mountain. Own the Night. Leave Your Tracks at Falls Creek.

When the lifts stop spinning and the village lights glow, a different kind of mountain crew gets to work. At Falls Creek, our Snow Groomers are the unseen artists who sculpt the terrain that thousands of guests enjoy the next day. If you thrive at night, love precision machinery, and want to play a defining role in one of Australia’s most iconic alpine resorts — this is your moment.

Your Impact on the Mountain

Falls Creek is Victoria’s largest ski area, spanning 450 hectares of diverse terrain, renowned for its progressive freestyle offering, immaculately groomed runs, and vibrant alpine village. As a Snow Groomer, you’ll be essential to delivering world-class snow surfaces that define the Falls Creek experience — from first chair corduroy to perfectly shaped parks. Working behind the scenes, you’ll collaborate with fellow mountain teams to ensure safety, quality, and consistency across the resort, night after night.

The Night Shift Legends: What You'll Be Doing

  • Execute advanced grooming strategies across a large, varied alpine footprint, balancing surface quality, snow preservation, and traffic patterns.
  • Make real-time decisions based on snowpack assessment, weather inputs, and terrain usage, not just direction-following.
  • Shape and maintain high-performance freestyle and park environments, working closely with park and mountain operations teams.
  • Operate efficiently within a mixed fleet (PB400W, Park Pro, Park, Free, PB300) to match machine capability to terrain intent.
  • Contribute to season-long snow management outcomes, not just nightly presentation.
  • Support integrated slope operations, including snow production and cross-department collaboration when conditions demand it.
  • Take ownership of machine care, operational efficiency, and safe outcomes during overnight operations

What You'll Bring to the Cab

  • Minimum two seasons’ experience operating snow grooming machinery.
  • Strong snow awareness and efficient machine operation practices.
  • A sharp eye for detail and pride in producing top-quality work.
  • A safety-first mindset and commitment to operating procedures.
  • The ability to stay calm, adaptable, and focused in changing weather and snow conditions.
  • Solid communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Bonus points for experience in snowmaking, slope operations, or completion of PB Online Academy modules (or equivalent).

Why Falls Creek?

  • Live and work in a true alpine village for the winter season.
  • Visa support may be offered for eligible international applicants.
  • Access to a modern grooming fleet and varied terrain.
  • A tight-knit, skilled grooming team that values professionalism and camaraderie.
  • A Vail Resorts Australia Staff Lift Pass and up to 40% of food, retail and rentals
  • A supportive, inclusive team that works hard and enjoys mountain life
  • A workplace where you're encouraged to learn, contribute and grow
