JOB SUMMARY:
The Founding Director of the Bhisé Center for Global Understanding, reporting to the Provost, will be a strategic thinker who will lead the University in establishing a permanent and sustainable infrastructure that focuses on addressing critical global issues and prepares the next generation of global thinkers and leaders.
An accomplished scholar in a related field, the Director will implement the Center’s vision, support its research agenda, partner with academic units on course offerings, build awareness across campus, and bring international recognition to the Center and University. The Center’s activities are focused on the following areas of commitment:
Funding is in place for three years, and the Director will be expected to lead efforts to secure future funding. Tenure will be considered for candidates with the appropriate credentials and subject to review and endorsement by the appropriate disciplinary faculty of the University.

SALARY RANGE
In compliance with New York’s Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $175,000. Adelphi University considers factors such as departmental budgets, scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. An annual base salary higher than the range may be warranted in circumstances where a candidate has demonstrable equivalent prior higher education experience at another University.
