Position Summary

ECODIT is seeking qualified candidates for a Budget Analyst/Specialist position for the five-year USAID Gender Leadership, Equity, and Advancement for Development (LEAD) Program. The Program provides technical assistance and forward-leading programmatic support, thought leadership, and knowledge dissemination in gender integration to USAID Missions and Bureaus across sectors and focus areas. Gender LEAD also supports Operating Units (OUs) in the implementation of the 2018 Women’s Entrepreneurship and Economic Empowerment (WEEE) Act and USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Policy (Gender Policy) as operationalized through ADS 205.LEAD is managed by USAID’s Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment Hub (GenDev). The Budget Analyst/Specialist will report directly to the Director of Finance and Administration (DFA). S/he will ensure that budget analysis and financial reporting requirements are met for all program aspects, and assist in project management functions of financial planning, program auditing, budgeting, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and track the project budget including forecasting project spending, managing monthly burn rates and conducting pipeline analyses
  • Prepare financial reports and perform other general accounting functions as needed
  • Support the preparation of budgets for specific work orders/tasks in response to buy-in requests
  • Maintain strong financial records in compliance with organizations policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and prepare USAID financial and accrual reports
  • Assist with interpreting financial reports for program staff
  • Respond to routine inquiries related to accounting and finances
  • Ensure compliance with month-end reporting requirements, including submitting financial reports in a timely manner
  • Anticipate issues  and provide recommendations for their resolution in a timely manner
  • Assist with the preparation of annual independent audits
  • Adhere to ECODIT’s ethical, quality and environmental policies
  • Perform other duties as needed to ensure the smooth financial management of the project

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field
  • At least three years of demonstrated experience in the budgeting/accounting/finance field, including budget preparation and reporting
  • Familiarity with integrated general ledger accounting packages
  • Knowledge of and experience with USAID financial management and reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills
  • Excellent English written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment, often with tight deadlines

 

Additional/Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience working on USAID funded projects preferred
