Railhead, Inc. is seeking a Cloud/Hybrid System Administrator to support current commercial and Department of Defense efforts.  This position will be a permanent internal overhead position closely working with the CEO and executive leadership team.  You will be working within the IT team and providing technical expertise to support, advise and enable the use of technology. This is a hands-on role where you will be responsible for maintaining and upgrading software and hardware and supporting network and infrastructure.  The selected candidate will be instrumental in managing, troubleshooting, and proactively updating hardware and software assets to prevent downtime or zero-day exploits from occurring.

Responsibilities:

  • The Systems Administrator will be responsible for assisting the migration to a cloud architecture with industry best practices.
  • Installing hardware and software for the network.
  • Set up accounts and workstations.
  • Software patch implementation and testing and system maintenance checks and repairs.
  • Optimizing and evaluating the system regularly.
  • Set up accounts and workstations.
  • Assigning and updating security permissions for the system network.
  • Provide front-line on-site and remote support to diagnose and resolve user-reported problems.
  • Assist in outage restoration actions, escalating to correct personnel within published timeframes or when indicated by procedure.
  • Log all investigative and restorative actions taken in designated systems for later retrieval for audit purposes and root cause investigations.
  • Assist in Hardware deployments, including peripherals (desktop and server provisioning.
  • Equipment assistance/troubleshooting (e.g., intake new equipment, coordinate with partners upon arrival, issue, swap, etc.).
  • Problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging expertise to mitigate customer or service outages.
  • Update standard operation procedures and technical training guide documentation as needed.
  • Support hardware/software integration planning and oversee activities.
  • Support system-level test planning and oversee test implementation.
  • Perform technical risk management activities.
  • Perform analyses and trade studies as necessary to aid in selecting system concepts.
  • Support the project team in defining and documenting the system architecture and design.
  • Ability and willingness to periodically lift and carry objects and equipment of no more than twenty pounds.

Qualifications:

  • Four-year college degree in computer science, electronic engineering or other related technical discipline desired.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience with cloud/hybrid operations/architecture.
  • Familiarity with current industry best practices for cloud resource management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing, and interface with customers, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Experience aligning the migration to cloud architecture with industry best practices highly desired.
  • 8570 IAT II compliant certification (e.g. Security+) required,
