We are expanding our Professional Services team and are actively recruiting a Program/Project Manager to work on client projects focused in Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering business consulting services to our clients and helping to expand our services operations in Atlantic Canada. Reporting to the Director of Professional Services, this is an exciting opportunity to be part of a talented and growing consulting team that is committed to providing service excellence to its customers, backed by a longstanding Atlantic Canadian based organization. The Program/Project Manager will be focused on leading Client projects and providing technical solutions to our Client businesses. Our Client opportunities are varied and include project strategy and business case development, planning and solution architecture initiatives, project management advisory services, and large systems integration and implementation projects.


Job Responsibilities  

  • Leads Client technical/business solutions projects and initiatives, either as part of an IMP Solutions team or assigned to Client-directed work.
  • Develops project Scope-of-Work documents and project plans that include an analysis of benefits, costs, work schedule and related risks.
  • Works with technical SMEs to devise approach and manages the system development/implementation process.
  • Assigns, schedules, reviews, and monitors project work to ensure that progress is within expected quality guidelines, planned schedule and planned budget.
  • Manages third party vendors, as needed on behalf of the Client.
  • Mentors and provides expertise to other project team members.
  • Works with IMP Solutions leadership and our customers to identify project resource requirements.
  • Identifies, tracks, monitors and communicates project-related issues/risks, scope changes, variances and contingencies that may arise during the implementation of IT projects.
  • Facilitates solutions with the appropriate customer management.
  • Maintains effective communication and working relationships with customers and project team members.
  • Adopts and utilizes our clients’ methodologies or brings IMP Solutions’ methods and best practices to assignments through deep experience of industry tools and techniques.
  • Leads and/or assists with the development of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses and assists Sales in business development activities. 
  • Prepares and presents oral and/or written technical reports and project presentations.


Job Qualifications

    • Successful completion of a University Degree in Computer Science or Engineering Sciences or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • An expert in project management and delivery methodologies and techniques.
    • Knowledge and experience using an agile and/or human-centered design approach.
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation.
  • 8+ years in IT, including large scale project/program management experience in a consulting capacity.
    • Superior communication skills and ability to work effectively with our Clients senior management and business stakeholders.
    • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects with varying resources and conflicting/competing timelines.
  • Working knowledge or organizational change management practices (e.g. Prosci) would be considered an asset.
