Welcome to Oak Island Resort & Conference Centre - Atlantic Canada's first resort and convention centre facility. Far away from the everyday, but only 45 minutes from Halifax!

We are looking for dynamic individuals who are passionate about delivering authentic and unique guest experiences.  Our Front Desk Agents will provide excellence in guest service and act as a liaison between the resort and our guests, always responding to guest requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner with the ability to think “outside the box”.  This is a full-time position.





  • Provide excellent guest service, meeting and exceeding external & internal guests’ needs and requests
  • Accurate and timely check-in and check-out of resort guests
  • Perform Reservations and Switchboard duties, as required
  • Generate extra revenue through the employ of selling strategies and daily up-selling
  • Follow and maintain all corporate practices as outlined in the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) manual
  • Daily balancing of individual work, as well as maintaining a cash float
  • Will be required on occasion to provide guest service during an overnight shift
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned





  • Minimum of 2 years in a front line customer service role, handling currency and processing payment transactions
  • Post secondary education in Tourism and Hospitality or equivalent hotel experience is a definite asset
  • Previous Guest Service / Front Desk experience is an asset
  • Proficient use of computers (familiarity with Five Star is an asset)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Strong organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Ability to show initiative and efficiently work independently
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Must be flexible in availability.  Shifts include evenings, weekends, holidays and occasional overnights
