Our team is looking for motivated individuals to join our Banquets crew for the busy summer season.  We are searching for a professional, hardworking, team player who is committed to ensuring the proper set up and preparation of our Banquet Rooms for our guests.  Not only will the ideal candidate have great communication skills, but also will be ready to work in a fast paced environment that requires attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.  Experience is not required, but willingness to learn is. This is a temporary, part-time opportunity.


RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):

  • Greet all guests in a professional, prompt and friendly manner
  • Ensure all function and set-up requirements are completed in conjunction with Oak Island Resort Banquet standards and policies with respect to presentation, quality, service and product
  • Foster and promote friendliness, cleanliness, and teamwork which will assure the enjoyment of guests and the development of repeat business
  • Efficient set up and tear down of meeting rooms and displays
  • Attend and participate in pre-service meetings, scheduled operations and training
  • Provide outstanding customer service to meet guest satisfaction
  • Have knowledge of all facilities and services, as well as any functions occurring on the property
  • Ensure all assigned shift cleaning procedures are performed and adhered to
  • Perform any other duties assigned or requested by Food and Beverage Manager or Supervisor




  • Previous Banquet and/or Hotel experience a definite asset
  • Must have a valid drivers license
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must have a keen eye for detail
  • Positive, professional attitude and good communication skills
  • Able to lift, pull, and push up to 50 pounds
  • Able to work flexible hours, including of evenings and weekends
  • Able to work long hours with long periods of time standing/walking
