We are searching for a dynamic individual who is passionate about Food and Beverage and exceptional Guest Service delivery.  The successful applicant will assist in managing food service operations for various events, such as weddings, conferences, and themed weekends.  They will act as a liaison between the hotel, event conveners and operations team, always responding to requests and concerns in a personal, prompt and courteous manner with the ability to think “outside the box”.  This position will be of interest to an individual who is a self-starter in nature and who will be able to quickly make a difference to service levels by demonstrating a relentless desire to exceed guest expectations.


This is a temporary position with an expected end date of January 2022.  While it is a full-time position for the majority of the term, hours will be limited during our seasonal closure, January – March 2021.  Expected hours during this period will be 8-16 hours per week.


RESPONSIBILITIES (include but are not limited to):


  • Ensure efficient communication between all departments
  • Assist catering inquiries and ensure timely follow up on the same business day
  • Manage events by arranging details, creating and distributing banquet event orders etc
  • Maintaining an accurate filing system for the catering department
  • Gather guaranteed attendance numbers and contacting the appropriate operational managers with any changes
  • Provide excellent guest service, meeting and exceeding external & internal guests needs and requests
  • Meet and greet conveners, answering any questions and ensuring all details are taken care of
  • Be empowered to solve guest concerns immediately to ensure total satisfaction. 
  • Will assist in servicing the groups and functions when needed
  • Handle property sites with clients if necessary
  • May assist in the preparation of sales promotions and mailings etc
  • Attends sales and F&B meetings as requested
  • May do telemarketing to previous clients to inquire about possible future bookings when asked
  • Be involved with the properties health and safety committee to represent F&B service and be proactive to ensure the employees safety
  • Ensure that hotel policies and procedures are followed
  • Other projects and tasks as assigned in the Food and Beverage Division



  • Post secondary education in Tourism and Hospitality or equivalent hotel experience an asset
  • Food and Beverage service experience in a hotel of similar size and volume an asset
  • Must have previous administrative experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Passionate about guest service with an eye for detail
  • Proficiency in computers and ability to work under pressure
  • Positive and professional demeanor with proven track record
  • Strong organizational, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • Able to handle stress and work in fast paced environment
  • Able to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to show initiative and handle problems without guidance
  • Must be able to work a variety of shifts inclusive of evenings, weekend and holidays
