Description

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates interpersonal savviness and the ability to be a collaborative communicator via telephone and email with members, attorneys, and carriers regarding various liens and workers’ compensation cases at the 1199SEIU Benefit and Pension Funds to build strong member relationships
  • Ensures accountability when:
    • Sending accurate lien documentation and responding via emails to members, attorneys, carrier and the Workers; Compensation Board
    • Data entering liens and workers’ compensation information in various databases and systems (QNXT, V3, Perfect Law)
    • Generating letters to attorneys, workers’ compensation board, carriers and 1199SEIU members
    • Creating and updating Excel spreadsheets concerning liens and workers’ compensation cases
    • Processing incoming correspondence from the workers’ compensation board, attorneys, and members
  • Provide clerical support to the department including but not limited to; filing, faxing, delivering, emailing etc.
  • Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management


Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two (2) years clerical experience in a general office environment required
  • Minimum of 1 year customer service experience required
  • Must possess the skills to navigate between multiple screens/systems to keep members fully engaged and manage call time, while quickly and accurately responding to inquiries and data entering relevant notes with a minimum 6,000 KPH and 6% or less error rate Basic skill level in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel preferred
  • Excellent clerical and filing skills; detail oriented and organized 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize, multi-task, follow up and follow through on assignments, while working under pressure to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solver and action oriented with ability to work well independently and as a team player
  • Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
