About this Opportunity
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator, Remote Area Clinics is responsible for delivering high quality, culturally appropriate nursing leadership and operational coordination across Remote Area Clinics. This role provides strong clinical governance, professional guidance, and exemplary role modelling aligned with the NSQHS Standards and underpinned by the National Rural and Remote Nurse Generalist Framework 2023–2027.
Working under the direction of the Clinical Manager, Remote Area Clinics, the Clinical Nurse Coordinator functions within a Remote Primary Health Care environment, applying evidence based best practice and ensuring compliance with the standards of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (SA/NT), the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and the Nursing & Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA).
Key responsibilities include:
• Providing clinical leadership and supporting nurses with decision making in complex, high acuity, or unfamiliar situations.
• Offering guidance on evidence based practice, ensuring alignment with RFDS standards and NSQHS requirements.
• Assisting nurses to interpret clinical assessments and develop safe, comprehensive care plans tailored to patient needs.
• Advising on population health priorities including immunisations, chronic disease management, preventative health, and community health promotion initiatives.
• Ensuring all nursing care delivered in Remote Area Clinics is safe, culturally respectful, and consistent with organisational policies, clinical governance frameworks, and best practice guidelines.
This position plays a critical role in strengthening remote healthcare delivery, supporting clinical capability across teams, and ensuring high quality, patient centred care for remote and rural communities.
